SEMI-REGULARS:
Another Ale - 5.6% This is an American Pale ale made with hops playing center stage. The unique simcoe hop flavors this beer. Juicy malt keeps a lovely balance. A portion of oats provide a creamy texture.
Arkenstone Altbier - 5.5% This is a German brown ale. It is very clean on the palate with a balanced bitterness and a lot of toasted sweet malt flavor that comes from 2 types of German Munich malt. It is very smooth and inviting.
Biscuit City Pale ale - 6% Named for its dominate specialty malt, it has an aroma of baked biscuits with gentle fruity hops. There is a grainy bread-like flavor, with lots of hops in the finish.
Dark Rosaleen Stout - 4.7% Opaque black, this is a semi-Irish stout. It is creamy and smooth, with a flavor or roasted coffee and an underlying hint of caramel. It finishes dry with a touch of bitterness. It is served with a mix of nitrogen and carbon dioxide to give it a thick creamy head similar to Guinness.
Golden Perch India Pale ale - 6.3% This is a pale ale with what we like to call more 'oomph'. There is an excess of hop flavor, aroma, and bitterness, balanced by a strong malt foundation and higher alcohol than a normal pale ale. The Centennial hop is the featured brand among 4 varieties. 'Hopheads' will enjoy this one.
Indian Head Red - 5.2% Ruby red and well balanced between sweet malt and hop bite. This is a good medium brew where every player works in harmony with all the others.
McGann's London Ale - 5.6% English India Pale Ale. Juicy sweet malt, refreshing hops. Floral and a bit of spicy bite. Good balance and drinkability. A great brew to share with friends and toast to the good things in life.
Old Dunstable Amber - 5.7% Fragrantly floral and fruity hops are paired with a touch of caramel malt flavors for a fine medium beer that will make fast friends with your tastebuds.
Smoked Porter - 5.8% *SILVER MEDAL WINNER* 2005 Great International Beer Festival-porter category. Rich with roasted malts and hop zing, a portion of smoked malt mellows the sharp edges of the beer and smoothes them out. It makes for a robust beer that draws you in with its complexity and texture without overpowering.
Steeplechase Porter - 5.6% Full flavored and full bodied, toffee, caramel and roast malt complement the bitterness and spice from the three hop varieties used. Once described as 'liquid sex' by an admiring customer!
Volstead '33' - 4.7% This is our lightest flavored brew and also our only year round offering. Easy on aftertaste, with little to no bitterness and the barest hint of hop flavor.
SEASONALS:
Vow of Silence Belgian Stout - 7.5% A style all its own. This is a hybrid of a strong stout with a Belgian Abbey ale. It is rich, robust, full bodied and full flavored. Roasted coffee, bitter chocolate, sweet malt, with hints of dark fruit underneath. So good you'll want to keep it to yourself. If you like your beer thick and dark, this is for you. Available in February and March.
Weathertop Doppelbock - 8% Dark brown colored, extremely smooth, and deceptively potent. This is a strong German lager. It is slow brewed and has a lengthy aging time for its flavors to fully develop. It is literally liquid bread, both food and drink in a glass. Available in March and April.
Revolution Red - 5.5% This is a special brew that is different every year. The recipe is rewritten and the flavor profile is altered. It's a celebration of the renewal of spring. The only constant is that the beer will be easy drinking. Available in April and May.
Belgian White - 5% This is a Belgian wheat beer. Ours is made with crushed Coriander seed, orange peel and a special yeast strain. It is crisp and refreshing with a citrus aroma and tart finish. Creamy on the palate, it is a hazy brew due to the special yeast, which enhances the overall taste experience. Available in May and June.
Velvet Elvis Vanilla Bean Stout - 4.8% A Sweet stout made with pure vanilla extract and vanilla beans. It is smooth and chocolatey with vanilla aromatics that also enhance the richness of flavor. It is a dessert beer that is not too heavy. Try it with a scoop of ice cream to make a beer float! Availability varies from late spring to mid-summer depending on when it can be fit into the line-up.
Hefeweizen - 5.5% This is our German style wheat beer. It has its own unique yeast that provides many different flavors that blend with the tart wheaty malts. Banana, clove, and vanilla are just a few of the tastes you can get from this brew. We do not serve this style with a lemon wedge. Contrary to popular myth and belief, this is not the way to enjoy this beer. The beer provides enough flavor on it own. Hefeweizen is also served hazy and unfiltered. Available in June and July.
Oktoberfest Lager - 6% Our version of the well known German autumn beer is filled with toasted malt flavor and aroma and a balanced bitterness. It is cold lagered for months for a very smooth quaffable brew. This is our fastest selling beer every year. Available from mid-September through October.
MacLeod's Scotch Ale - 8% A big malty, malty beer with flavors of sweet caramel and smoky roasted notes. Dark Ruby red in color, it is full bodied and robust. We brew this beer to usher in the cold weather season. Available in November and early December.
Magi Winter Warmer - 6.8% Pronounced MAHJ-eye (as in the three wise men), this is a holiday dark ale. It is dark brown with garnet highlights. It is spiced with a small amount of Cinnamon and Nutmeg to give it a little holiday whimsy. The spices are restrained allowing the roasted malt and fruity hops to come through. Available from Thanksgiving to New Year's and beyond.
The Abbot's Habit Tripel - 9% This is a strong Belgian style golden ale. It uses simple pale malts and sugar syrup with a special yeast to create a warming, very drinkable brew. The yeast adds a touch of fruitiness and subtle spice. It finishes dry and clean, hiding its potency rather well. Be careful, it sneaks up on you! Available in December and January.
RESERVE BEERS:
This is an ever growing list of one-off specialty beers that are made in small quantities by our brewer. They are rare styles or experimental beers or experiments of rare styles for the adventurous beer drinker. Availability of these reserve beers will be made known when our brewer tells us. Sometimes these special offerings work so well that we will make available again in the future. Stay tuned for what's coming up and when.
Past Reserve brews: Flanders style sour red, Belgian style Geueze, cellar-aged kegs of Vow of Silence and Abbot's Habit, Oak-aged Munjoie Saison and IPA and Jack Daniels barrel-aged specialties.
